The employees of NeNe Leakes’ lounge paid tribute to Gregg Leakes after his passing.
The Linnethia Lounge staff hosted a karaoke night on Wednesday honoring the late husband of the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star. The event featured balloons spelling out Gregg’s name and the lounge’s Instagram account shared a video of one staff member drawing a picture of Gregg on a chalkboard.
“We are sorry to hear about Gregg’s passing and just to show our respect for Gregg and to show the family some love we have….a tribute to Gregg on the board tonight,” another employee narrates in the video.
“We really like to celebrate our own,” the narrator continues. “We’re just really trying to do something to support the family and also just to show our live right here at the Linnethia. … Thank you all for your love and support, we really appreciate it. We’ve been reading all your messages and everything.”
A rep for the Leakes family announced on Wednesday that Gregg lost his three-year battle with colon cancer.
“Today, the Leakes family is in deep pain with a broken heart. After a long battle with cancer, Gregg Leakes has passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by all of his children, very close loved ones and wife NeNe Leakes,” the statement read.
“We ask that you pray for peace and strength over their family and allow them to mourn in private during this very, very difficult time.”
The Bravolebrity has yet to publicly comment on her husband’s passing, but her son with Gregg, Brentt Leakes, shared a photo of himself wearing a “cancer sucks” hat after his dad died.
