Lana Condor shows off the utility backpack she designed with Vera Bradley.
Ever wonder what your favorite celebrities buy when they’re browsing their favorite boutique or shopping online late at night? Welcome to Six Picks, where we ask stars to spill their style and beauty must-haves — so you can shop like you’re famous, too.
Much like her beloved “To All the Boys” character, Lana Condor is a sucker for all things skincare- and snack-related — and we’re pretty sure Lara Jean Covey would approve of the actress’ first-ever fashion collaboration, too.
“I’ve been a fan of the brand for a long, long time,” the Netflix star and former ballerina told Page Six Style. “The women in my family all are huge Vera Bradley fans; it’s just kind of what I grew up with. I remember when my mom gave me my first bag, to put my ballet stuff in. I would take it to class and it would have my ballet shoes and my leotard … it was kind of a rite of passage.”
As for what Condor stows in her bag these days, now that she’s pirouetted from dance to acting? Everything from SPF to her go-to Celine sunglasses to nutritional yeast, the latter of which she described as a “life hack” she uses on everything from popcorn to sliced heirloom tomatoes.
Below, shop the actress’ backpack design, along with a handful of her other everyday essentials.
“I designed this backpack because I really wanted a great set bag for myself; hopefully other people will want to use it for work or school or as a gym bag or travel bag. But for me, it was a set bag. I really wanted a bright, fun pattern inside so I could find things easier. I’ve been able to carry everything I need to work with me, and I carry quite a lot of stuff … like, a true Mary Poppins!”
“Controversial statement: I always bring my Birkenstocks with me. Either people love them or people say they look like the ugliest shoes alive. I love them so much. They go with everything. I think they look so cute with a high-waisted denim short and a simple white tee — my favorite’s from L’Agence — with a French tuck.”
“It’s really pretty, satiny, but surprisingly moisturizing — I didn’t really expect that. But I’ve been loving wearing it, because I think that it kind of enhances my natural lip color.”
“I was doing a shoot and I fell in love with this piece. So I asked my stylist, ‘Is there any way I could just buy it off of you?’ The designer ended up giving it to me, and I love it so much, because depending on your mood, you can wear it one way or the other way. And it goes with everything, because it’s a two-in-one.”
