Fruits Basket: Prelude Earns Over 33 Million Yen on the Opening Weekend

Fruits Basket: Prelude anime movie has earned over 33 million yen (~US$287 000) on the first two days of the exhibiting. The movie started screening on February 18, 2022, in 25 Jap theatres.

Fruits Basket: Prelude is a prequel movie to the Fruits Basket long-established sequence. The story revolves around Tohru’s of us, Katsuy (C.V. Yoshimasa Hosoya), and Kyoko (C.V. Miyuki Sawahiro). However, it didn’t adapt the fleshy tale of the manga sequence. The 2d adaptation aired from 2019 to 2021 and had a total of 63 episodes (3 seasons). TMS Entertainment and director Ibata are also those who labored on the contemporary adaptation.

The sequence is in step with Natsuki Takaya’s Fruits Basket manga sequence. Hakusensha serialized the sequence from 1998 to 2006, and it has a total of 23 volumes.
