Former “Bachelorette” Ali Fedotowsky has revealed she’s been diagnosed with shingles.

“Welp – I have shingles – at 36 years old,” she wrote alongside an Instagram post on Thursday, sharing photos of the viral infection which causes a painful rash and blisters.

In a lengthy caption, Fedotowsky admitted she’s been trying to hide the diagnosis from her followers.

“I don’t really know why I wanted to hide it,” she wrote. “I think it’s mostly because I didn’t want the added stress or pressure of the Internet while I was trying to rest and heal.”

She added, “I’m sharing now because I hope my story will help others detect it early. I didn’t even think it was possible to get it at my age.”

In a series of photos and video, Fedotowsky showed followers bumps that had formed on her eyes and forehead, admitting that the painful neurological condition — normally seen in older patients — was likely brought on by stress and a weakened immune system.

In one video, the Bachelor nation star panned around her forehead examining where she felt pain, telling fans she had sent in a video to her dermatologist immediately after noticing.

“I remember I kept itching my head and felt this electricity underneath my skin (my nerves acting up),” Fedotowsky wrote.

“I am soooo grateful that she diagnosed me early and got me on the proper medication. So early that it was a day before I even had a tiny little pimple-like spot on my face which I wouldn’t have thought twice about & days before I had multiple spots that ended up causing swelling and blurred vision in my eye.”

The reality TV star advised fans to check in with their doctors early if they felt any symptoms to lessen the severity and duration of shingles.

For now though, Fedotowsky will be taking some much deserved rest and relaxation. The “Bachelorette” alum shared she was “trying to limit the stress in my life and hoping my vision clears up” in her recovery.

“Today the swelling is down a lot so I’m grateful for that!” Fedotowsky said.

Fedotowsky has had a tough year and a half. In March 2020, she had a COVID scare, despite testing negative for the novel virus. Then in July, she revealed she suffered a miscarriage.

“I don’t feel sorry for myself. I feel sad for what could’ve been. Sad for the baby that was growing inside me. Sad because it’s sad,” she said at the time.

Fedotowsky first appeared on “The Bachelor” in 2010, and went on to become the sixth “Bachelorette” that same year. She accepted Roberto Martinez’s proposal during the finale, but the two later called it quits. Fedotowsky announced she was engaged to longtime boyfriend Kevin Manno in 2015, and just a few months later revealed the couple was also expecting their first child. The couple share daughter Molly, 4, and son Riley, 2.
