CSKA-Barça Euroleague postponed due to outbreak of positives in the Barça team

The Euroleague match that Barça and CSKA Moscow had to face this Friday in the Russian capital was postponed this Wednesday due to the cases of covid-19 that drag the Catalan team, which does not have the minimum of eight players to play the meeting.

The coronavirus has hit Barça hard in recent weeks, which has nine positive cases in the squad and another nine in the coaching staff, including coach Sarunas Jasikevicius, for a total of eighteen. The Barça players registered in the Euroleague who cannot play because they have tested positive for coronavirus are Pierre Oriola, Kyle Kuric, Nick Calathes, Nico Laprovittola, Brandon Davies, Sergi Martínez, Dante Exum and the homegrown players Michael Caicedo and Gael Bonilla.

Faced with the impossibility of gathering the required minimum of eight players to play the match, Barça asked the Euroleague to suspend the match, which was finally granted. The new date of the match is still unknown, which, according to the Catalan club, will be announced by the Euroleague in the coming days.
