At least 16 tourists die of cold after being trapped by snow in Pakistan

At least 16 tourists have died of cold after being trapped in the snow in their vehicles in northern Pakistan, where thousands of people traditionally spend the Christmas holidays and enjoy the snowy scenery. With more than 1,000 vehicles still stuck on the road, the Pakistani government has declared the town of Murree, 40 miles from the capital Islamabad, a catastrophic area. Neighbors in the area are helping by offering blankets and food to the trapped people, but the situation is one of total collapse due to heavy snowfall. The rescue operation, with the presence of the Army, works against the clock in the area, where temperatures are still very low.-Editorial Office –
