Seven people, including five police officers, were injured in the incident
At least one person has died this Tuesday after an explosion in a building in the New York neighborhood of the Bronx caused a major fire and the partial collapse of the apartment block. The city Police Department has confirmed the death of a 77-year-old woman, while two others, aged 68 and 82, are in stable condition, according to the NBC network. Likewise, the agency has detailed that five members of the Corps have suffered intoxication due to smoke inhalation, for which they have also been transferred to hospital centers.
Eyewitnesses have detailed to the aforementioned chain that at least two have been listened to explosions followed by flames and that, later , ashes have started to fall from the building. At first it was pointed out that the causes of the flames could be related to a gas leak , although the energy company responsible for supplying the building has acknowledged have no indication that this had occurred .
